Sports for the Younger Generation

In order to decrease the mental pressure and build up self confidence among the rural youth, Praja Trust has organised various sports like Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket, Throw ball as well as rural sports at Village, Taluk and District level are being promoted. Cash rewards and other prizes are awarded to winning teams in order to promote sports among the youth.

Hail Food Provider !! Honour Farmers towards prosperity

Toiling Farmer, our food provider, If our farmers are happy, the Nation will prosper. Praja Trust specially honours the Farmers who provide food to everyone. The Government and the other association celebrate National Farmers' Day on December 23 of every year and Praja Trust works to identify over 25 progressive farmers & honours them with cash rewards of Rs. 5000 each and also honour the farmers by releasing a calendar each year.

Cultural glory among school-college students

Off late, the world of mobile phones, TV, and computer use has been on the rise. This has led to the decrease of reading books among students and younger generation. Students are forgetting the art, literature, culture of the country. As such, Praja Trust has been organizing various cultural competitions at district level colleges such as vocal, folk and devotional, poetry, storytelling, profanity competition. Competition winners are also given a cash reward with a Certificate.

Self confidence to Farmers !!

Farmers are the backbone of any nation. However, off late the lives of farmers has become miserable. The poor farmers suffer on the one hand due to famine and on the other hand crops get washed away due to heavy rains causing mental agony to farmers as they have to re-cultivate the crops without the right price. Hence, farmers who are completely dependent on their land for their livelihood commit suicide, unable to cope up with the mental distress. Praja Trust, organised programmes at Degree colleges and also has been organising various programs to prevent the suicide of farmers known as “Prevention of Farmers Suicide with the support of Youth”. The program teaches the younger generation how to behave well with their parents and work to reassure them. (Several programs have been done in the last 5 years).

Awareness on Exam Fear among children.

In some of the rural areas, Children still fear exams. In order to overcome this fear among children, Praja Trust strives to prepare students in their academic field by printing and distributing test books, sample question papers and answer books, especially SSLC and PUC students. With the help of teachers of respective schools, sample preparatory exams are conducted so that the children can score good marks in their final exams. Praja Trust is proud to inform that 5000 students across 5 examination centres have received this educational benefit.

Environmental awareness through Drawing and painting among school children:

Praja Trust has been conducting special programs to raise environmental concerns among primary and secondary school children. Praja Trust has been organising District Level Drawing & Painting Competition to raise environmental awareness among students between 5th to 10th standard. This program aims at bringing urban and rural children under one roof. Winners of this competition are given prizes and cash awards.

Environmental protection, free sapling distribution

The Forests are in the brink of destruction. Plants and Trees are disappearing. Due to sale of land both at rural & urban areas, more so there is no conservation of forests in villages causing scarcity of forests. Against this backdrop, Praja Trust is constantly organizing workshops on ecology and distributing fruit & flowers saplings to the villagers. During distribution of saplings focus is given to coconut saplings so that it becomes a source of income to the farmers. Till date, more than 1 thousand coconut saplings have been distributed.

Importance to Sports – Rural games competition

In recent days, cricket is one of the most popular sports. Rural children are also tempted to take a bat and ball and run to the field. In view of the same, Praja Trust has come forward to promote rural games in the country. Rural games such as chinnidanda, lagori, rope-pulling, sludge running, lifting pots and running, Breaking Pots etc., competitions are being organized in rural areas. This provides an opportunity to all age groups including senior citizens to participate in such competitions. The main purpose is to introduce, encourage rural sports to the younger generation. This will also provide entertainment to farmers who toil day and night in the fields.

Awareness to empower Rural Women

It is a matter of pride that Praja Trust has organised several programs to empower rural women. Women are trained at home in handicrafts, sewing, toy making, computer learning, camphor and agarbathi making. Our trust is also working to encourage talented girls from rural areas. We provide scholarship to girl students who score highest marks in SSLC, PUC & Graduation for further studies. Another special event is organised every year on the Occasion of International Women's Day, where women farmers are identified and cash rewards are given.

Free Medical Service for Villagers - Blood Donation

Praja Trust is focusing on the health of people in rural areas. Free health screening and treatment camps are being conducted with Experienced medical teams in rural areas. To date, the Trust has supported over 84 patients for eye treatment. In few cases emergency treatment is provided free of cost to villagers at Bengaluru. In the event of urgent blood requirement to patients, we have arranged pick & drop facility to blood donors and volunteers in our trust vehicles from their residence to the respective hospitals safely. It is a matter of pride that we have helped more than 4 thousand patients.

Support to flood affected kodagu people

Despite any hardship Praja Trust has played a very important role in providing rescue operations to displaced people in flood affected areas. During the flood at Koadgu, our trust provided groceries, clothes, medicines and other provisions to the flood affected victims. Our Trust played a active role in helping people of Madapur, Danti pala, Habba hole, Kaaloor, Mainadu, Jodu pala, Madakere, Saagar, Sunti koppa, Bohi kere, Kaana Kolli, Napoklu and other flood affected areas under the slogan KODAGIGAGI NAMMA KODUGE.

Save Government Schools – New Revolution

Since 2019, Praja Trust has been working on saving government schools. Under the slogan "OUR SCHOOL - OUR PRIDE", we helped students of rural government schools with education equal to convent education. Under the Swacch Andholana movement, we provided materials such as ties, belts, bags, notebooks, & other stationery items to the school children. We have encourage student to attend schools by providing each child with health kits to create awareness about health & Hygiene. This program has already been successful in 42 government schools, which has benefited over 2,000 children.

Our walk - towards North Karnataka

During the 2019 floods in neighbouring North Karnataka, Praja Trust has worked alongwith “Akhila Karnataka Vashishta Simha Abhimani Balaga” for 5 days to wipe thousands of tears under the slogan “OUR VILLAGE OUR PEOPLE” at North Karnataka Districts of Navalagunda, Konnuru, Avaradhi, Kalaala, Gonekoppa, Menasisi, Kollapura, Shirola, Vasana Kampli, Budhihala and other villages of taluks. We distributed food supplies, blankets, clothes, utensils, mainly medicines and tablets to many families, and gained popularity among the people of those areas.

Health- Hunger free movement

During the first wave of Covid-19, in the year 2020, Praja Trust helped students Control Corona virus by distributing masks and sanitizers who were writing SSLC exams at various examination centres and also distributed to more than 2 lakh 50 thousand people across Bengaluru.
During the second wave of Covid-19 lockdown, Our Trust provided home made delicious and hygienic food to more than 200 homeless, disabled and destitute people every day(More than 48 days). We distributed eggs every Sunday and Wednesday and sweets every Thursday along with homemade delicious and hygienic food.
We distributed food using our vehicles searching for homeless, destitute and senior citizens across Bengaluru’s Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Sumanahalli, Dr. Rajkumar Samadhi, TVS Cross, T. Dasarahalli, 8th mile, Jalahalli Cross, Goragunte Palys, RMC Yard, Yeshwanthpur, Navarang Circle, Rama Mandiam, Bashyam Circle, Magadi Road, Tolgate, Vijayanagara, Gali Anjaneya Temple, Mysore Road, K R Market, Kalasipalya, Basavanagudi and other areas.
